Viņš ir atgriezies. Pēc sešu gadu pārtraukuma britu sliktais zēns Robijs Viljamss ir gatavs doties koncertturnejā un sniedz iesildīšanās koncertu O2 arēnā Londonā. Un pierāda, ka šo atgriešanos gaidīt bija vērts.
Kad atklājot šovu Robijs Viljamss kliedz mikrofonā: “So come on let me entertain you. Let me entertain you,” ir neiespējami turēties pretī viņa harizmai. Skatuve atrodas arēnas vidū. Kādā brīdī Robijs vienkārši apstājas un mierīgi nolūkojas trakojošajā pūlī. Tajā pašā mirklī O2 arēnā iestājas apdullinošs troksnis – fani viņu ir gaidījuši ilgi un tagad gatavi “nogaršot” pēc pilnas programmas.
Biļetes uz trīs iesildīšanās šoviem pirms Eiropas turnejas izziņosanas tika izpārdotas stundas laikā. Tikai paši veiksmīgākie pie tām patiešām tika, jo pieprasījums pēc biļetēm bija 50 reižu lielāks nekā piedāvājums. Un tāpēc viņš mūs apsola izklaidēt savā – īpašajā Robija stilā.
Ballīte pa īstam sākas ar Candy. Viņš pats ir sava jaunā hīta Candy alter ego – salds, iekārojams, ar savu īpašo garšas niansi. Un tieši Candy kocertā skan tik “lipīgi” kā neviena cita dziesma.
Savukārt Rock DJ laikā no griestiem nolaižas četras vizuļojošas Robija ģīmetnes. Gaismas stari atspīdot uz tām, izšķīst tūkstošiem sīkos gabaliņos un arēna atgādina diskozāli. Patiesībā, jau kopš pirmās dziesmas arī visi sēdvietu biļešu īpašnieki nevis zviln krēslos, bet ir kājās un dara visu, ko rokkoncertos pieklājas darīt – dzied un dejo. No skatuves grīdas paceļas milzīgs zelta kronis un Robijs tā vidū tiešām izskatās pēc savdabīga karaļa. Tā ir sava veida humoristiska atsauce uz viņa jaunāko albumu – Take The Crown.
Pēc tam, kad publika ir iesildīta ar Candy un Rock DJ, Robijs uz skatuves aicina savu tuvu draugu un vairāku dziesmu līdzautoru Gaju Čembersu (Guy Chambers). Gajs sēžas pie klavierēm, bet Robijs parslēdzas citā tēlā – Frenka Sinatras līdziniekā, kas koķetīgā stilā izpilda Eternity, Mr Bojangles and She’s the One.
Mainās dekorācijas un dziesmas, bet Robijs pierāda – šis ir viena cilvēka šovs. Viņš gan brīžiem pakoķetē ar abām bekvokālistēm, uzsmaida pavadošā sastāva mūziķiem, bet tomēr – uz skatuves karalis ir viņš. Un šī loma mūziķim lieliski piestāv. Kad izskan Bodies pirmās taktis, zāle burtiski sajūk prātā. Vispārējo katarsi vēl vairāk uzkurina perfektās vizualizācijas – milzīgi dejojoši skeleti un galvaskauss, kas gatavs aprīt visus klātesošos. Bodies viennozīmīgi ir efektīgākais koncerta priekšnesums, kura laikā vibrē ikkatra arēnas konstrukcija.
Un tad, pēc superenerģiskā Bodies, pēkšņi iestājas tumsa un ieskanas Feel motīvs.

…..dzied tūkstošiem balsu. Tumsā uzmirdz spuldzītes, kas nolaižas līdz pašai skatuves grīdai. Tas ir intīms brīdis, kad visi sajūtas kā viens vesels. Jo šeit nav tāda cilvēka, kas nezinātu šīs dziesmas vārdus.
Koncerta laikā mūziķis izpilda arī mazāk zināmas dziesmas no jaunā albuma, bet tas nekaitē kopējai trakās ballītes atmosfērai. Un noslēgumā pēc hītiem izslāpušie tiek palutināti ar Kids un tobrīd uz skatuves pietrūkst tikai Kailija Minoga.
Kad Robijs atvadās un dodas prom no skatuves, neviens to, protams, nopietni neuztver. Tikai aizvien skaļāk pūlis sāk skandēt: “Robbie, Robbie, Robbie!”
Viņš atgriežas, lai izpildītu vēl četras dziesmas. Kad dziesma Angels tiek veltīta viņa mazajam eņģelim – divus mēnešus vecajai Robija meitiņai Teodorai Rouzai, daudzu acīs ir aizkustinājuma asaras. Šai dziesmai nav vajadzīgas ne iespaidīgas dekorācijas, ne konfetī lietus. Tikai Robijs un klātesošie, kas dzied viņa vietā.
Koncertu noslēdz dziesma Losers no jaunā albuma, kuru Robijs izpilda duetā ar bekvokālisti. Un tas nebūtu mums labi zināmais Robijs, ja pēc pāris rindiņām neaprautu dziesmu, lai pateiktu, ka aizmirsis vārdus. Nu nekas, otrajā reizē viss izdodas perfekti.
Tiek ieslēgtas arēnas gaismas un viņs ar pavadošo sastāvu no skatuves cauri pūlim dodas uz aizskatuvi. Karalis ar svītu ir sajūsminājis padotos. Un tie viņu ar atplestām rokām sagaidīs arī nākamreiz. Jo tāds Karalis ir tikai viens.

Ladies and gentlemen – British ‘Candy’ Robbie!
He is back. After a six-year break, British bad boy Robbie Williams is ready to go on tour and gives a warm-up concert at The O2 Arena in London. And proves that it was worth waiting for this return.
When opening the show, Robbie Williams screams in the microphone: ‘So come on let me entertain you. Let me entertain you!’, it is impossible to resist his charisma. The stage is in the middle of the arena. At one point, Robbie stops and calmly overlooks the delirious crowd. At the same moment, a deafening noise settles in The O2 Arena – the fans have been waiting for him for a long time, and now are ready to receive the full platter.
The tickets to the three warm-up shows, before the announcement of the European tour, were sold out in an hour. Only the most fortunate ones got the tickets, because the demand was 50 times larger than the supply. And that’s why he promises to entertain us in his – unique Robbie style.
The real party starts with ‘Candy’. He himself is the alter ego of his latest hit ‘Candy’ – sweet, desirable, with his own special taste. And specifically ‘Candy’ sounds ‘catchier’ than any other song in the concert.
In its turn, four sparkling portraits or Robbie come down from the ceiling during ‘Rock DJ’. Rays of light reflecting on them dissolve into thousands of tiny pieces and the arena resembles a disco. Actually, from the very first song, also all the seat owners, instead of sprawling in their seats, have gotten up and done everything that is proper to be doing at a rock concert – singing and dancing. A huge gold throne rises from the floor of the stage with Robbie in the middle of it really looking like a distinct king. That, in its way, is an amusing allusion to his latest album ‘Take the Crown’.
After the audience has been warmed up with ‘Candy’ and ‘Rock DJ’, Robbie invites his close friend and co-author of a few songs, Guy Chambers on stage. Guy sits at the piano, and Robbie switches to another character, a look-alike of Frank Sinatra who, in a coquettish manner, performs ‘Eternity’, ‘Mr Bojangles’ and ‘She’s the One’.
The decorations and songs change, but Robbie proves that this is a one man show. He flirts with both backup singers now and then, smiles at the accompanying musicians, and yet he is the king of the stage. And this role fits the musician perfectly. When the first cords of ‘Bodies’ are heard, the audience literally goes mad. The all-embracing catharsis is kindled even more with the perfect visualisations – giant dancing skeletons and a scull ready to swallow everyone present. ‘Bodies’, unequivocally, is the most spectacular performance of the concert during which every construction of the arena is vibrating.
And then, after the super-energetic ‘Bodies’ all of a sudden darkness falls and the ‘Feel’ tune rings out.

..thousands of voices are singing along. In the dark, lights sparkle and lower to the stage floor. This is an intimate moment when everyone feels like one. Because there is no one here who wouldn’t know the lyrics of this song.
In the concert, the singer also performs less popular songs from his new album, but that doesn’t harm the overall atmosphere of the crazy party. In conclusion, those thirsty for hits are indulged with ‘Kids’, and then the stage lacks only Kylie Minogue.
When Robbie bids farewell and leaves the stage, of course, no one takes it seriously. Only ever louder does the crowd start chanting “Robbie, Robbie, Robbie!”
He returns to perform four more songs. When the song ‘Angels’ is dedicated to his little angel, Robbie’s two-month old daughter Theodora Rose, it brings tears to countless crowd goers. This song doesn’t need impressive props or a confetti shower. Only Robbie and everyone present singing it in his place.
The concert concludes with ‘Losers’, from his new album, which Robbie performs as a duet with his back-up singer. And it wouldn’t be the Robbie we know if in a couple of lines he didn’t cut the song short to say that he had forgotten the lyrics. Never mind, everything goes smoothly the second time around.
The arena lights are turned on and he, with his accompanying band, go from the stage through the crowd to the backstage. The king with his entourage has elated the masses. And they will also welcome him with open arms the next time. Because there is only one King like that.
With his only show in Northern Europe, Robbie Williams will perform in Tallinn Song Festival Grounds on the 20th of August next year.
