I call my Whippet Maxim, a friend who’s always there – in the early mornings when we go for a run, on rainy and windy days when we soak through to the skin, during leisurely moments when stretching on the beach we catch some sun – he’s always ready to take part in any adventure (except for maybe swimming, which he doesn’t like much). Also, during the warmest holidays of the year, when looking for presents for the family, I always think of my four-legged friend, and most often, the evening of December 24 comes with a new toy or snack.

When choosing gifts, I pay more and more attention that the present contains not only instant joy, but also a thoughtfully chosen and sustainable product. Maxim by nature is quite introverted; in this basket bed, he lied down and fell asleep instantly, immediately after its unpacking. It’s characteristic of Whippet dogs to run faster than the wind when outdoors, but after coming home their favourite activity is lazily lying about, so I make sure his bed is comfortable. The basket pillow mattresses adapt to the shape of the dog’s body, allowing for a deep rest, while, for me, particularly attractive was the beautiful fabric design, the tiny flowers reminding me of flowering meadows in the English countryside. The bed is easy to move as it is not heavy, therefore on sunny summer days, it can be placed in the shade of the terrace, but if necessary to clean, the mattresses are detachable and suitable for washing.

I should note that this is Maxim’s second bed, and now the dog lives like a real king, and can choose in which of the two to spend his sleeping hours. For a couple of years now, Dog Bed Sleepy Deluxe Teddy has been amazing in everyday life, with rounded edges that Whippets enjoy using for head support (just like a person lying on a pillow). The soft material is removable, so changing it makes it feel like a brand-new bed – for example, choosing a different colour (my favourite is the ORGANIC CANVAS SAND, which fits well with the palette of a maritime climate).
