An alphabet of breath taking interiors
I was going for a journey every evening when the Taschen book 100 Interiors Around The World appeared in my hands. A trip around the world from Mexico to Beijing, from Copenhagen to Buenos Aires and from London to Hong Kong. When I held this huge book and looked in the photos of delightful interiors, hundred ideas came into my mind how to improve my apartment.
100 Interiors Around The World is the interior inspirations Bible. Amen! Cos I was afraid to see perfectly designed and polished houses that would remind of museum and not of place where real people live. But no! These hundred interiors that have been hunted by Taschen around the world are bright example that house is temple where piece, harmony and warmth are living. Even in most ascetic house or apartment a thing will specify owner’s personality. Maybe he is keen of looking for antique books. Maybe he is an incurable traveler but maybe he is a positively crazy artist that creates an interior of things others would have thrown away. Besides it is so thrilling to go for a travel to the new place and country with every page observing changes that reconciles with the peculiarity of culture and climate. It is wholesome journey around the world from shapes of laconic country style until eclectic city interiors.
100 Interiors Around The World consists of two books and the weights of each book is about 2,5 kg. That means that in the pictures one can see every detail and besides next to each picture is attached interesting information about architecture and design and how the specific thing found way to the house. Looking at the beautiful pictures apparently idea comes to my mind – creation of interior can be compared with painting. All you need is appropriate materials, mixture of the colors and inspiration!
If we talk about alphabet – it is like a base point. For example, A – it is apartment in Amsterdam that is located at the edge of the North Sea channel and ships are constantly sliding past the windows. B – an apartment in Berlin that is arranged in a huge blockhouse besides so authentic that it seems time has stopped in 70ies. N – totally crazy kitsch in skyscraper’s 66 floor in New York city, which is designed by an artist couple. S – a villa in São Paulo where owners visited the architect with own made drafts.
